Headquartered in Missoula, Montana, Blackfoot began as a rural telephone cooperative in 1954. Named after the Blackfoot River, our roots lie deep in Western Montana and in the lasting relationships we've built with our members.
We have a proven track record of providing advanced telecommunication and technology services in the west. Blackfoot has grown over the years to provide more products and services to a larger region. Today, Blackfoot Telecommunications Group and our various companies deliver state-of-the-art telecommunications to communities across Western Montana and Eastern Idaho.

Products & Services
Blackfoot connects Montana businesses and residences to advanced voice, data and IT services. Blackfoot maintains a focus on expert, locally-based customer support. We also have a proven track record of innovation, including developing Western Montana's largest private voice over IP (VoIP) network. Today, Blackfoot's high-capacity fiber network covers 8,500 miles in Montana and Eastern Idaho.
Blackfoot Telephone Cooperative
Named after the Blackfoot River, the Cooperative offers services to 22 rural exchanges in Western Montana, including: Alberton, Alberton South, Alta, Arlee, Avon, Charlo, Clinton, Condon, Dixon, Drummond, Haugan, Noxon, Ovando, Philipsburg, Plains, Potomac, Powell, ID, St. Ignatius, St. Regis, Seeley Lake, Superior and Thompson Falls. A non-profit corporation, Blackfoot Telephone Cooperative, Inc. is owned by its customers, each of whom has voting rights in selecting our Board of Trustees. Blackfoot also gives back to our Cooperative Members in various ways, as a benefit of their membership.
Blackfoot Communications provides advanced communications services for business and large enterprise customers in Bozeman, Billings, Butte, Great Falls, Helena, Kalispell and Missoula. In 2012, Blackfoot acquired Cutthroat Communications, allowing Blackfoot to serve as the region's business and technology leader.
In 2013, Blackfoot acquired Fremont Telecom Co. and Fretel Communications from FairPoint Communications, Inc., which are now collectively called Fremont Communications. We provide voice and data services for leading businesses and residential customers in six Eastern Idaho communities: Ashton, Idaho Falls, Island Park, Rexburg, St. Anthony, and Teton.
