Theodore (Ted) Otis - Chief Financial Officer

COMPANY ROLE

As Chief Financial Officer for the Blackfoot Telephone Cooperative and its subsidiaries, Ted Otis is responsible for all financial activities, including accounting, economic analysis, and financial reporting.

BACKGROUND

Before joining the Blackfoot management group in 2000, Ted was the Director of Economic Analysis for CenturyTel where he worked for 14 years. In that position he was responsible for conducting financial analyses for the company’s operations in 21 states.

Prior to his position at CenturyTel, he worked for the Montana Public Service Commission from 1981 to 1986, following a brief career with the U.S. Forest Service. Ted earned an MA in Economics from the University of Montana in 1979.

INDUSTRY INVOLVEMENT

• Participant in numerous industry forums related to the economics of the telecommunications industry
• Member, the Rate Development Task Force of the National Exchange Carrier Association (NECA)

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

• Supporter, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and Planned Parenthood

INTERESTS AND ACTIVITIES

Ted lives in Missoula and spends much of his spare time running, hiking, and biking in the nearby Rattlesnake National Recreation Area. He is a fan of the Seattle Mariners and rock music. Ted travels frequently to the Seattle and Portland area to visit family and go camping and ocean kayaking.
