Widespread Power Outages across service territory
July 24, 2024
UPDATE 7/26 – 10:35AM
Efforts to restore power have been resumed. Significant progress was made yesterday, but still, many of our customers and communities in our service territory are without power and internet.
No estimated time of power restoration has been provided. Here are some helpful informational resources: https://www.northwesternenergy.com/outages/montana-storm and https://missoulaelectric.com/outage-updates/
Thank you for your patience while we work through these issues.
UPDATE – 7/25 – 4:52PM
Power companies continue to work on resolving issues. Blackfoot has had to turn off generators to our remote field equipment due to fire restrictions but will be out in the morning to get them back on to sites that do not have commercial power restored. If you have power at your home or business but no internet, it is likely that you are impacted by one of the remote field equipment that doesn’t have commercial power yet.
We have not been provided with any estimated time of restoration as to when all of the power issues will be resolved. Here are a couple of resources for reference: https://www.northwesternenergy.com/outages/montana-storm and https://missoulaelectric.com/outage-updates/
Thank you for your patience while we work through these issues. This will be the last update of the evening.
UPDATE – 7/25
Power companies continue to work on resolving issues. Additionally, Blackfoot has technicians working to restore power to equipment that was lost but we have no estimated time of restoration currently.
Thank you for your patience while we work through these issues.
Initial Report – 7/24
Severe storms have caused extensive power outages across much of our service areas. Utility companies are actively working to repair downed lines and replace broken poles to restore service as quickly as possible. Please make sure that you have commercial power restored before calling support.
At this time, we do not have an estimated time of restoration (ETR). We understand the inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience.
We will provide updates as soon as new information becomes available. For your safety, please stay away from any downed power lines and report them to your local utility company immediately.
