4 Ways to Keep Your Smartphone Secure.

April 29, 2021

According to some estimates, there are 3.5 billion smartphones in the world today. With a global population of 7.8 billion, nearly half the world has a smartphone.

How can you keep your smartphone secure?

  1. Update your device routinely: The longer you wait to update your phone the more susceptible your phone can be to hackers since your software is out of date.
  2. Lock your devices when not in use: In the off chance you lose your phone, you do not want someone accessing sensitive information on your phone. Create a four or six digit passcode or create longer alphanumeric code. You can also add face or fingerprint identification.
  3. Use public WiFi networks with caution: Be wise before connecting to open, public WiFi networks. When you are on your home WiFi, keep your network closed and secure with the Blackfoot Smart Home app.
  4. If you don’t recognize the sender, don’t click links in emails: When checking your email on your phone, be careful not to click suspicious links.
